In Chapter 20, Mrs. Trotter changes her mind and decides that she never wants her husband to receive knighthood. She comes to this decision after reading in the paper that her friend Mrs. Blenkinsop's husband has been knighted, a sign to Mrs. Trotter that they are knighting anyone.
