At the end of the novel, Bertie tells Jeeves he can get rid of a checked suit that he dislikes. Jeeves responds that he has already gotten rid of suit. Metaphorically, the suit is representative of Bertie’s agency—in giving up the suit, he also gives up control over his own life.... to Jeeves, who is admittedly already in charge.
