What happens on the night that Craig plans to end his life in the novel, It’s Kind of a Funny Story?

Craig decides to end his life by jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge, but on the night he plans to do it, he suddenly feels his heart beating through every part of his body and decides he wants to live. He calls the suicide hotline, and the person he speaks with suggests that he seek help at the nearest emergency room. Craig complies and is hospitalized in the adult phychiatric unit.
