Ishmael: An Adventure of the Mind and Spirit
Why is the narrator so upset to see Ishmael’s ad in the paper in the book, Ishmael: An Adventure of the Mind and Spirit?

The narrator is upset because he once wanted to change the world, in the 1960s, but he watched as the youth movement was degraded to a “fashion statement” and everyone turned cynical about the possibility of change. He is convinced that the ad is a scam and a joke, and that change is no longer possible, so now he resents the naiveté he once felt.
