Who is Rob Hall from Into Thin Air and what is their importance?

Rob Hall is the head guide of Adventure Consultants. He is hired by Outside Magazine to lead the narrator, Krakauer, up the mountain. Hall is a conservative conscinteous climber who doesn't take reckless chances with his climbers. Hall is famous for summiting the tallest mountain in each of the seven continents in only seven months.
