How does Layla’s approach to the relocation differ from her parents’?

Two Exclusion Guards show up at their house after Layla gets home from David’s house. Layla originally thought that they were coming for her because of the curfew, but the guards tell them that they have ten minutes to pack one bag apiece, before they will be taken to an internment camp.
