Throughout the narrative of Indecent, the so-called "Rain Scene" in "...Vengeance" becomes a symbol of Asch's play, and of what it has to say about freedom and the nature of love. Later in Indecent's narrative, "The Rain Scene" is presented in its entirety for the first time. As a result, it functions as the play's narrative, emotional, and thematic climax.
