Linda's father is unnamed, although, he too, is a slave from another plantation. Her father enjoys a great amount of freedom and moves around freely, as long as he pays his mistress for the priviledge. His was a successful carpenter and tried to buy his children's freedom after his wife's death. His request was refused.
