The Sorcerer is a white wizard living in Southern France. He intends to use the infant Parry as a sacrifice, but the local Abbot intervenes to stop him. The Sorcerer then raises Parry as his own son, training him in the art of white magic. During a clampdown on heresy, French troops kill the Sorcerer.
