What happens towards the end of Chapter 9 that Mac is blamed for?

Anderson tells Mac that Al has been beaten up and his lunch wagon has been burned. This was one of Anderson's greatest fears in supporting the strike as his son's business and his land are valuable assets that make them vulnerable.
