Who is Connor MacFerran from Ice Hunt and what is their importance?

Dr. Connor MacFerran is a Scottish geologist and part of the Omega group, he is involved with assistant Lacy Devlin, despite a wife at home. Linda was sweet and gentle with a welcoming manner and didn't deserve the betrayal, but that didn't stop Connor. His feelings for her are genuine however, and when she goes missing, he immediately begins a search for her, even willing to go alone if he must through the crawlspace.
