Why did the Mitchells refer to Bilquis as the "flower lady"?

If Bilquis became a Christian, it would affect the lives of other members of her family in serious ways. It could impact her nieces' opportunities for marriage, and, perhaps, it would mean that Maumud's father could regain custody of the boy.
