How did Tina meet Ike Turner?

One night Tina went with Alline, who has also moved in with their mother, to a club on the East side of St. Louis where Ike Turner and the Kings of Rhythm were playing. Tina's first impression was that Ike was ugly but she noticed how most of the women seemed like they were in a trance when they watched him play. Tina did find his guitar playing captivating and she was soon swaying with the other girls as they gazed at Ike Turner.
