Who is Robbie from the novel, I, Robot?

Robbie is one of the earliest robots. Robbie is a humanoid robot, but he does not have the ability to speak. Robbie is sold as a nursemaid to a young child. However, when Robbie exists there is a growing distrust of robots in the world. His child’s mother becomes jealous of his connection to her daughter, so she uses the distrust of the neighbors to encourage her husband to get rid of Robbie. Robbie, who has been instilled with the same three laws of robotics as all other robots before and after him, saves the little girl’s life and wins his way back into the family.
