Who is Michael Donovan from the novel, I, Robot?

Michael Donovan is a scientist with US Robots who specializes, with partner Gregory Powell, in figuring out problems with robots after they are developed and are placed into service. Donovan is one of the scientists present who works with the robot who has such a conflict between the second and third laws of robotics that it becomes almost drunk with indecision. Another time, Donovan is present when a robot becomes so self-aware that it will not believe that Donovan put it together just a week prior to its self-discovery. Donovan also becomes one of the first men to experience interstellar travel.
