Who is Lenar Hoyt from The Rise of Endymion and what is their importance?

Lenar Hoyt became the leader of the Church following Father Paul Dure's assassination. Dure was the first Pope of the newly constructed Church, which came to power after the fall of the farcasters. In the three hundred years since he was first assassinated, Dure has been reborn five more times. Each time he is killed, Hoyt is ressurected.
