What is the setting in the story, That Summer?

That Summer is set in Lakeview. Haven works in Lakeview Mall at a children's shoe store called Little Feet. Most of the story is set between the mall, Haven's home, and the area in between like the park where Haven occasionally still hides from the world under the slide. Again, small town living reveals itself in the lack of privacy and the fact that everyone knows everyone else's business. This issue is fueled by one or two town gossips who make it their personal mission in life to keep everyone informed.
