What metaphors are used in Holes by Louis Sachar?

Two examples of metaphors in the novel, Holes, are as follows;

"There she is....the Devil Woman!"

It was said that Green Lake was "heaven on earth" and that Miss Katherine's spiced peaches were "food for the angels."
