Who is Senior Wizards from High Wizardry and what is their importance?

The Senior Wizards spend a great deal of time in combat with the Lone One, and as a result, tend to live short lives of great importance. Senior wizards hold advisory positions, do research, and help out when they're needed. Earth has twenty four Senior Wizards, Asia has six, Australia has one in the Atlantic (for the whales), Europe has three, the Americas have nine, South and Central America have five, and Africahas four.
