Who is Benjamin Franklin Fischer from Hell House and what is their importance?

Benjamin is a Spiritualist who survived the last trip into Hell House. It had it's cost though, as Fischer had a breakdown, and after accusations of fraud had disappeared from the field. He was only fifteen during his first visit to Hell House, but already a renowned Spiritualist, and by the time he was found on the front porch of the house, he had aged thirty years at least, was naked and curled up into a fetus position. He had spent three months in a coma afterward, but that doesn't stop him. Now, at the age of forty five, he finds himself given a second chance to confront the house that so remarkably changed his life the first time.
