In Section 28 Chid returns, having traded in his orange robe for a pair of khaki pants, and his role as an ascetic for one of a Christian. He is, once again, ill. He sleeps or groans, rather than chants on this visit. He has not, however, changed in that he still seems to take whatever he can get without feeling a need to give anything in return.
