What forces do these children need sheltering from?

The children who meet in the ARTT roomface a variety of different problems that they need to be protected from. These problems include the need to belong... to not be isolated because of their learning needs, bullying, and race issues, and cultural assimilation (and the need to hold onto traditions in the face of assimilation).
