Why does Claudius insist the kingdom must move on so quickly. His marriage?

Claudius wants nothing more than for everyone to forget about Old Hamlet's murder. He is the reigning King, he is married to the King's wife (his sister-in-law), and Old Hamlet's death is still under suspicion. Claudius wants is all forgotten because it is in his own self-interest that it be set aside.
