In Act 1, Scene 2, Hamlet is stiff and formal, but polite, to Claudius and Gertrude. When he is left alone, he violently objects to their marriage. He is openly suspicious and distrustful of his uncle, and questions his mother's love for his father because she remarried so quickly.
