Cherry Mountain, located on the far side of the lake, is the tallest mountain in the area and requires a long hike to reach the top. From there, the mountains and surrounding area can be seen for miles to the horizon. Cherry Mountain is a place of great memory for Nate, who used to hike up the mountain with his grandmother years before. It is on Cherry Mountain that Lucy photographs Nate holding an old photograph of him and Grandma Lilah to give to her at the cookout.
