Who is Mr. Bailey in the book, Half a Chance: A Novel?

Mr. Bailey is the father of Nate and Emily and the husband of Mrs. Bailey. He is a teacher at the school that Nate will be attending. He and Mrs. Bailey argue about Grandma Lilah’s condition through the course of the novel, worrying about whether she will or will not be able to last the rest of the trip.
