When the Ariel role proves problematic—no one wants to play a fairy, and have to say the line “where the bee sucks, there suck I,” Felix presents Ariel as a powerful force of nature, with superpowers and control over the weather, in addition to the ability to be invisible; this gets the men to see him as a special effects guy, an imaginary friend, an unseen magical helper, or else as an alien stranded on earth, trading his help to Prospero, in order to get home again.
