The narrative is told almost exclusively from the perspective of Felix, except for a few key moments throughout the text. This has the effect of making the reader empathize with Felix’s character, even when he is doing questionable things such as spiking grapes with hallucinogenic drugs. It also has the effect of making the reader question Felix’s sanity.
