Who is Gustavo in the novel, Hades, Argentina?

Gustavo was a member of Montoneros, as well as Isabel’s lover. In late 1976, when the Montoneros’ cause seemed increasingly doomed, Gustavo wanted to flee Argentina and go to Cuba. Isabel responded that she would not stop him, but that she would remain in Argentina and die for the cause if necessary.
