Explain how the people treat Gulliver, the longer he stays their captive.

Although Gulliver is a captive of the people, he is treated very well. In fact, Gulliver explains that, little by little, the people stopped seeing him as a threat and, eventually, even the children were allowed to come close to him. When he gains more understanding of the language, the emperor has shows put on for him also.
