Describe the ship captain's attitude toward Gulliver, after hearing his incredible story. How does Gulliver react to the captain's attitude?

Initially, the captain cannot believe Gulliver's story. So, Gulliver wants his chairs, hammock, and the table to be brought out as a way to prove that he is not a mad man. The captain tells him that they have all been destroyed. Therefore, Gulliver brings out the combs and other stuff that he has collected and that proves to the captain that Gulliver is not mad.
