Who is Wonse from Guards! Guards! and what is their importance?

Lupine Wonse is the secretary to the Patrician, Lord Vetinari. Wonse knew Vimes when they were younger and they dislike each other. He is secretly the Supreme Grand Master and the one that is summoning the dragon to the city. He wants to have a king that will listen to him and all that he says. He is power hungry and hates Vimes. He fires Vimes before the dragon takes over the city. When the dragon leaves, Wonse is confronted by the Patrician who he thought he had locked up. He falls to his death after Vimes tells Carrot to "throw the book at him." When Carrot throws the book at Wonse, who falls backwards and over the edge to his death. The Patrician didn't want Wonse dead but isn't upset about it.
