What does Harry do to help Lydia, in Chapter 4?

Lydia comes to Harry begging for his help, saying that if he doesn't help her, she won't live through the night. Harry is put off, but finally gives her his protective talisman and tells her to go to Father Forthill's church and tell them that she was sent there by a friend of Michael's.
