What is unusual about the behavior exhibited by Augustus?

Augustus was the baby of a female named Petula. Unlike the other infants, Augustus liked to play alone and would often climb trees to search for signs of her mother. She also learned to clap her hands, a behavior seen in no other wild gorilla during Fossey's study, and for a period of time could be seen and heard doing this at various times.
