Who are Daniel and Ruth from Going Bovine and what is their importance?

Daniel and Ruth are members of CESSNAB who save Cameron and Gonzo when Cameron passes out in the middle of a street. Daniel and Ruth live on a compound where everyone is happy and drinks vanilla smoothies. CESSNAB is a place where people worship at the alter of positive thinking. They hate competition and believe that trying to achieve goals is the reason for disharmony in peoples' lives. When Cameron accidentally finds himself in the middle of a CESSNAB revolution, Daniel and Ruth turn against him and become violent.
