What is the author's style in Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares?

The novel is designed specifically for teenage girls, and the language reflects this. There is no obscene or abusive speech, little regional slang and no variation from acceptable, mainstream, teenage conversations.
