What is the author's style in Girls at War, and Other Stories by Chinua Achebe?

Girls at War and Other Stories consists of twelve stories ranging in length from four to twenty-one pages in length. Each of these stories is written by Chinua Achebe, and each takes place in Nigeria in the mid- to late-twentieth century. Only length, theme, and tone separates these stories from each other in a substantive way.
