Although Eknath Easwaran is thorough in his historical accounts, it is easy to see that he his perspective is also as a follower and admirer of Mahatma Gandhi : Easwaran seems uniquely suited to identify with Gandhi's upbringing and the philosophy and perspective of his countrymen, having shared a very similar background.
