What happened when Firoozeh's teacher showed the class a map in Chapter One?

Mrs. Sandberg wrote Firoozeh's name on the board and spelled out Iran beneath it. She pulled a map down and looked at Nazireh expectantly. Mrs. Sandberg wanted her to point out where Iran was but unfortunately, she like most women in Iran were undereducated and could not comply with the request.
