What does Sam do in order to feed Oksi in "Sam Battles Bird Instincts"? Why?

Sam dons a costume using a dead chicken's skin as a mask. He covers his hands and body with dark cloth. He does this so that Oksi will not see him as a human and thus imprint upon him, as Frightful did.
