Who is Blake? What does he do that drives Patty mad?

Blake is Carol Monaghan's new boyfriend. He is the opposite of the Berglunds -- a blue-collar worker with conservative values. He drives Patty mad when he begins to build an addition on Carol's house. Patty feels the addition is an eyesore and is disturbed by the constant noise of construction coming from next door.
