What does Bobby make Walter realize about marriage in "Canterbridge Estates Lake"?

As Walter leaves Bobby in a shelter, he comes to think he would miss him. He believes he and Bobby had a sort of marriage. Walter then thinks that a bad marriage is better than no marriage at all.
