The Fair Gwen is actually a nickname for Freak's (Kevin's mom) Her name is Gwendolyn but he calls her "The Fair Gwen" naming her after the Fair Gwen in one of his favorite stories of King Arthurs (Fair back then meant beautiful). The Fair Gwen became King Arthur's wife in the story (today the kinds know this tale as the Sword in the Stone)
