This story deals with the problem of Susan by giving Susan a voice. She tells Greta that she may have been interested in lipsticks and nylons, but that she had no time or money for any of these luxuries when her whole family died. She was forced to look after herself and grow up fast. She had to identify the bodies of her family, which was horrifying, and was then left all alone. She is bitter towards Aslan and thinks that he must not be a good God.
