Explain what happens to Forrest's best friend Bubba in Chapter 6.

Forrest and Bubba have become great friends and plan to captain a shrimp boat together after they are discharged. Forrest is promoted to machine gunner and Bubba volunteers to be his carrier. Bubba is shot in a rice paddy, Forrest ignores Kranz's orders to run in after him. Bubba dies saying, "Home."
