Forrest is awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for extreme heroism and gets to meet the President Lyndon B. Johnson. Forrest is starving when he meets the President, and as LBJ shakes his hand, Forrest's stomach growls. The President takes him inside for breakfast. Not finding Forrest talkative, LBJ turns on "The Beverly Hillbillies" and remarks that Forrest resembles the character Jethro. Forrest also pulls down his pants to show the president his battle scar.
