Who is Chief Wildcat from Follow the River?

Chief Wildcat is responsible for Mary's kidnapping, as well as a number of others. Wildcat is very impressed by Mary and would like to make her his woman, but she refuses. This decision leads Wildcat to sell her to Goulart.
