In "The Beans and Rice Chronicles," what happens between Isaiah and Mrs. Fisher?

Mr. Shephard is a librarian at the library where Isaiah spends his time reading through his father's stories. Noticing how much time Isaiah spends reading, he befriends him, and when he finds out he is reading his father's stories, he suggests Isaiah submit them to the library's annual writing competition. Over the next two weeks, Isaiah is regularly at the library typing one of the stories up for the contest and Mr. Shephard is always willing to keep the library open a little extra for him. This culminates with the night Isaiah finishes the story, when his mother comes to get him. Mr. Shephard compliments Isaiah to his mother.
