In "Sol Painting, Inc.," how does the girls' soccer team act in trying to get into the gym?

They are hot from practice and anxious to get into the gym where it is cold. The narrator says that they were "jostling and shouting" (53) and arguing among themselves, with at least one girl saying she needed to "pee." The apparent team captain pushes in first, getting a handful of wet paint. Rather than retreat, the girls push on ahead, ruining the paint job Merci has done on the door. As they continue on through the gym and through another door they offer half-hearted apologies in Spanish and French and move on.
