In "Secret Samantha," what is being said about Blade during her first day at the new school?

Samantha tells us that rumors are flying about Blade, including that she has three pet snakes and a knife collection, that she feeds the snakes rats, and that her house is haunted. Even Samantha's friend Henry says she is weird and points to her military boots as proof. Samantha, however, takes exception to this, telling Henry she thinks the boots are "pretty wicked" (67).
